Work from home online suggestions?

My husband passed away and my comute was too far for me to leave my girls, so I left the company. I would like to work online from home for a few years but can’t trust half of what I’ve seen so far. I don’t want or need a middle man, just a regular sit down and work hard job and stop when time to pick up my girls. I can work in the evenings some but I don’t want it to be my life ’cause now my girls are.
