Best Franchises For an Unemployed Engineer …?

Hello: One of my friend has been out of job for couple of months. He does not feel like he can get back into work force. He is thinking of starting a business … a franchise …. He has been thinking traditional franchises such as Pizza Hut, Jet’s Pizza (Here in Texas there are not that many), Seven Elevens, Brake shops …., but is having difficult time to get good suggestions. He is an very qualified engineer with masters degree and works well with others. We saw some of the internet based opportunities in advertising and such. They make tall claims as well.

My advise would be do what he knows best. Which would be what he was doing before he got lade off. But if he can turn that knowledge into a sellable commodity he could be onto a winner. Not sure on what kind of engineering he was involved in but the stated degree maybe setting up his own business based around what he knows best.

Having no real idea bout engineering ins and outs I can’t really suggest anything in particular that he could market online. best idea put his job description into google and see what it comes up with and think is this information marketable or can I make it so.

If you can build a website and sell. If you think you can you probably can beyond anything you imagined.
