Is York, Pennsylvania safe / scary?

O.K.. Here is my dilemma. I need a motel to stay at from about midnight November 1st 2007 to early the next day.
I am going to the Army vs Navy football game and traveling from NY the friday before.
York PA has a Motel6 available about an hour from Baltimore. I am bringing my wife who fears the hood(rightfully so).
So…..Is York, PA o.k to arrive in at midnight, unload our bags and sleep? or can you recommend another place?

I have lived in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania all my life, and I have lived in the “hood” all my life. York, PA is NOT a hood!! You will be fine.
